Frei Brothers Reserve is a historic Sonoma County operation established in 1890 by Swiss immigrant Andrew Frei and now owned and operated by the Gallo family. Based at the historic Frei Ranch, it draws on long-standing relationships with Sonoma growers and families. Winegrower Scott Johnsen, a fourth-generation California native who has worked at Frei Ranch since 2003, leads a minimal-intervention approach focused on sustainable, earth-friendly farming. Vineyard sites across Alexander Valley, Dry Creek Valley, and Russian River Valley are selected to express each variety’s character, producing wines marked by clarity, balance, and regional flavor.
