Rare Wine Company is an American source for vintage Madeiras, collaborating with Madeira producer Vinhos Barbeito and owner Ricardo Freitas on the Historic Series. Launched in 1998, the series comprises limited-edition, specialty bottlings that blend wines aged from 10 to 60 years. Its heritage-focused wines are named for historic U.S. ports and figures, combining Madeira’s long aging tradition with a distinctly historical presentation. Ricardo Freitas serves as blender and winemaker for the series. No information is provided on vineyard area, sustainability certifications, or ownership structure.
