Vini Rabasco is a family-run estate in Pianella, Abruzzo, owned and operated by Iole Rabasco, a former lawyer who also makes the wines. Since 2006, the Montepulciano and Trebbiano vineyards have been farmed organically and biodynamically, without synthetic chemicals. The site features calcareous clay soils with alluvial and marine fossil deposits, southwest-facing slopes, and traditional tendone-trained vines. In the cellar, Rabasco follows a natural, low-intervention approach: hand-harvested fruit, spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts, open-vat ferments, and no fining or filtration, with minimal or no added sulfur depending on the cuvée. The wines are focused on expressing the local terroir with a clear ecological ethos.
