Austria

Gober & Freinbichler is a privately owned micro-producer in Burgenland, founded and run by Dominik Gober and Gerald Freinbichler. Working from a renovated garage winery, they farm Blaufränkisch parcels in Neckenmarkt and Horitschon, including revived plots acquired from co-op members. The vineyards are organically farmed, with notes also describing biodynamic conversion and a focus on restoring natural balance. In the cellar, their approach is firmly natural: hand-picked fruit, spontaneous fermentation in open vats, large used barrels rather than new oak, and wines made with zero added sulfites, unfined and unfiltered. The style favors freshness and purity over heavy oak or high alcohol.
