Domaine la Toupie

France

Domaine La Toupie is a small estate in Maury, Roussillon, founded in 2012 by Jérôme Collas, an agricultural engineer, agronomist and oenologist who chose to become a vigneron. Its 12 hectares lie in the Fenouillèdes at the foot of Canigou, on limestone, schist, rolled-pebble and schist-marl soils. The vineyard includes predominantly old vines, alongside younger plantings of Grenache, Carignan, Macabeu, Syrah and Mourvèdre. Work is manual, with low yields, hand harvesting and limited, reasoned intervention. Grapes are vinified parcel by parcel in small containers, then aged in tanks or barrels and blended shortly before bottling. The domaine produces terroir-focused Côtes du Roussillon, Côtes du Roussillon Villages, Maury and Côtes Catalanes wines.
