Producer

Leacock's

Portugal

Founded in Madeira in 1741, Leacock’s is a historic producer now serving as a principal brand of the Madeira Wine Company, following its 1925 merger with Blandy’s interests. The Leacock family still owns and operates Quinta da Casa Branca, and the brand is associated with the São João vineyard. Its history includes Thomas Slapp Leacock’s research into treating phylloxera, helping preserve Madeira’s traditional grape varieties. Leacock’s wines are made using traditional, centuries-old Madeira methods, including the Canteiro aging system, alongside a phylloxera-saving viticultural approach. The producer’s long-standing identity combines family heritage, historic vineyards, and classic fortified-wine practices.
