Domaine Berthollier

France

Domaine Berthollier is a family-owned estate in Chignin, Savoie, run by brothers Denis and Didier Berthollier, who own, cultivate and vinify the wines themselves. Working steep vineyards on the southern slopes and at the foot of the Savoy mountains, they focus on local varieties including Jacquère, Altesse, Roussanne, Mondeuse and Persan. The domaine has farmed without insecticides, fungicides or herbicides since 2008, and is certified organic by Ecocert and biodynamic by Demeter and Biodyvin. Indigenous yeasts, very low sulfur additions and parcel-focused cuvées support an expressive, terroir-driven style across white, red and sparkling wines, including Crémant de Savoie. Their wines are regularly listed by La Revue du Vin de France.
