Castello della Sala

Italy

Castello della Sala is the Umbrian estate of the family-owned Antinori group, run by the Antinori family in its 26th generation. Its vineyards lie on clay and calcareous soils rich in fossil shells, with strong sun exposure and marked day-night temperature shifts. The wider Antinori family emphasizes sustainability and organic-agriculture principles, supported by its gravity-flow underground winery in Chianti Classico and certified organic olive-oil production. Castello della Sala is associated with leading figures in Italian wine including Renzo Cotarella, Giacomo Tachis, and consultant Émile Peynaud, reflecting a quality-focused, historically significant winemaking culture.
