Producer

Oriol Artigas

Spain

Oriol Artigas is an artisanal producer based in Alella, in Catalonia’s coastal Penedès area, owned and run by Oriol Artigas himself. A native of Vilassar de Dalt who also teaches enology, he is focused on revitalizing historic coastal vineyards. He farms old head-pruned vines across several sites around Alella, on Sauló granitic sandy soils at 120–300 meters altitude. The vineyards are worked organically, and the wines are made in a natural, non-interventionist style, with wild-yeast fermentations and no fining, filtration, or added sulfur. The result is a distinctly hands-on, small-scale project rooted in old vines and local vineyard heritage.
