François Baur is an independent, family-run estate in Turckheim, Alsace, with nine generations of winegrowing history dating to 1741. Led by Thomas Baur, the domaine farms 12.5 hectares across three terroirs, including the granitic Brand Grand Cru, with clay-limestone, stony and sandy soils also represented. Its vineyards are cultivated biodynamically, without synthetic chemicals considered harmful to soil life, with a focus on respecting terroir and enhancing wine complexity. The estate produces Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir, Muscat, Riesling, Gewurztraminer and Crémant d’Alsace. Its flagship Sang du Dragon Pinot Noir is aged in oak barriques for 18–24 months and bottled without filtration. Tours and tastings are offered in the historic cellars.
