Domaine Henri Magnien

France

Henri Magnien is a small, family-owned estate in Burgundy’s Gevrey-Chambertin, in the Magnien family since 1656. Today it is run by Charles Magnien, son of François Magnien, who serves as both owner-operator and winemaker, continuing a long family tradition. The domaine works vineyards in Gevrey-Chambertin as well as Corton and Aloxe-Corton, including Grand Cru and Premier Cru sites. Notes indicate organic farming practices, massale selections from the family’s Pinot Magnien clone, and very old vines used for the Vieilles Vignes cuvée. The style and identity are rooted in deep family continuity, site-specific Burgundy vineyards, and hands-on work by a single vigneron.
