Pichler-Krutzler is a family-run Wachau estate in Niederösterreich, founded in 2007 by Elisabeth Pichler-Krutzler and Erich Krutzler, both from winemaking families. Based in Oberloiben near Dürnstein at the restored Rothenhof, they farm key Wachau sites including Klostersatz, Supperin, Loibenberg, Kellerberg, Pfaffenberg and In der Wand, with a focus on Grüner Veltliner and Riesling. The estate works sustainably, with organic farming on several parcels from 2017, and emphasizes hand-worked vineyards and respect for nature. In the cellar, they aim for wines to arise naturally rather than through heavy manipulation, using practices such as skin contact, stainless steel and large oak casks, and extended élevage for selected wines. Their style is defined by precision, minerality, elegance and clear terroir expression.
