Château Clos René is a family-run Pomerol estate in Bordeaux, jointly owned by the Garde and Lasserre families and overseen by Pierre Lasserre and Jean-Marie Garde. Located on the western side of Pomerol near Lalande de Pomerol, its vineyards sit on iron-rich crasse de fer soils and are planted mainly to Merlot with Cabernet Franc. The estate is noted for organic and biodynamic farming, with no chemicals or sulfites used, though no formal certification is cited. Clos René is also among the few Pomerol properties to bottle its own wine, a practice revived in the 1970s, with Michel Rolland named as consulting oenologist.
