Tenute Sella 1671

Italy

Tenute Sella is a historic, family-owned estate in Piedmont, with roots dating back to 1671 when the Sella family first purchased vineyards. The estate, still owned by the family, manages approximately 23–26.5 hectares across the Lessona, Bramaterra, and Coste della Sesia appellations, producing around 70,000–75,000 bottles annually. It practices low-impact, sustainable viticulture—including grass-covered aisles, no insecticides, and hand-picking—though it holds no formal organic certification. Winemaking is led by Riccardo Giovannini and agronomist-oenologist Paolo Benassi, with family member Marco Rizzetti overseeing operations, blending centuries of tradition with a focus on terroir expression.
