Howell at the Moon is a small, focused producer on Howell Mountain in Angwin, California, founded after the property was acquired in 2000. Its vineyards, planted in 2001 and 2004 at around 2,000 feet, produce single-vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon from volcanic terroir. The vineyards are sustainably farmed with cover crops, with plantings informed by soil analysis from Dr. Daniel Roberts. Proprietor Marc Cohen has assembled specialist expertise including consultant winemaker Sarah Gott, winemaker Timothy Milos, and Pina Brothers Vineyard Management. The wines reflect meticulous vineyard management and carefully researched winemaking, with limited releases centered on age-worthy Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon.
