Château L'If

France

Château L'If is a family-owned Saint-Émilion estate in Bordeaux, acquired by Jacques Thienpont in 2010 and managed by Cyrille Thienpont. Set on the Saint-Émilion plateau near Troplong Mondot and Château Valandraud, its vineyards lie on clay and limestone-clay soils and are planted mainly to Merlot with Cabernet Franc. The estate is noted for very limited production and a focused, small-scale approach. It also emphasizes sustainability, adopting practices to reduce environmental impact and presenting itself as CO2-neutral, though no formal certification is cited in the core notes.
