David Moreau

France

Based in Santenay at the southern end of Burgundy’s Côte de Beaune, Domaine David Moreau is a family estate founded by David’s grandfather in 1959 and taken over by David in 2009. The domaine farms 9 hectares across Santenay, Meursault, Pommard, Maranges and Bourgogne, including Premier Cru sites and old parcels such as Clos Rousseau. Vineyard work follows organic principles without certification, avoiding herbicides and insecticides while favouring manual labour and light tractors. Grapes are hand-harvested, sorted in the vineyard and moved by gravity. Fermentations use indigenous yeasts in concrete, stainless-steel or barrel vessels, followed by oak ageing. The resulting red and white wines are described as generous, fruity, sensitive and terroir-focused.
