Château Grange Cochard

France

Château Grange Cochard is a historic, family-owned estate in Morgon, Beaujolais, built in 1759 and owned and managed by James and Sarah Wilding since 2008. Its 9.5 hectares of vineyards lie on granitic and schistous slopes, with many vines over 40 years old and some nearly a century old. The estate works exclusively with its own hand-harvested Gamay Noir à Jus Blanc, with all winemaking carried out on site. Its vineyards are organically certified, and the domaine uses low sulfites, indigenous-yeast spontaneous fermentation, gentle extraction and some whole-cluster fermentation. Led in the cellar by Jean-Philippe Manches, the team seeks natural, authentic wines that express Morgon’s terroir, combining traditional methods with technology to reduce vine stress.
