Château Coupe‑Roses

France

Château Coupe-Roses is a long-established family estate in La Caunette in Minervois, on the foothills of the Montagne Noire. With a 400-year family heritage, it is run by the Le Calvez family, with wines crafted by Sarah and Pascal Frissant. The vineyards lie on clay-limestone plateaux at altitude and are farmed under certified organic and biodynamic principles, with hand harvesting, cover crops, organic composts, and minimal soil treatments. In the cellar, the approach is low-intervention and terroir-focused, using wild yeasts, cool fermentations, short macerations, some whole-cluster work, and little to no additives beyond small SO2 additions on some cuvées. The estate also works with endemic, drought-resistant varieties as part of its response to climate change.
