Montepulciano d'Abruzzo

Villa Enzo is a mixed-use estate in Abruzzo with more than 100 hectares of vineyards. It has farmed organically since 1986, avoiding herbicides, synthetic fertilizers and chemicals. Its sustainability program includes biomass heating using waste wood chips, water filtration and reuse for irrigation, and free-range Cinta Senese pigs and Dexter cows used for natural weed control and fertilisation. The estate has also restored walnut groves, established a truffle bed, and expanded its vegetable gardens and orchards. These practices reflect an integrated approach to agriculture, with winegrowing carried out alongside broader land stewardship.
