Frecciarossa is a family-run estate on the first hills of Casteggio in Oltrepò Pavese, Lombardy, founded by Mario Odero in 1919. Now owned by his great-granddaughter Valeria Radici Odero and her son, the estate farms organically, certified by Valoritalia, with a strong focus on biodiversity through inter-planted crops, beehives, livestock, fruit trees and a vegetable garden. Its 27 hectares of vineyards, mainly planted to Pinot Nero on lime-clay soils, are harvested by hand in small crates, and the winery vinifies only its own grapes. The estate produces red, white, rosé and traditional-method wines, with a philosophy of respecting each variety’s character. Its history includes early exports to the American market, while winemaking is led by Gianluca Scaglione with consultant Cristiano Garella.
