Founded in 1907 in Appiano, South Tyrol, St. Michael-Eppan is a historic member-owned cooperative of local winegrowing families. Its vineyards lie on sunny alpine slopes between 400 and 900 meters, with calcareous, morainic, porphyritic and alluvial soils that shape a wide range of varieties. The estate follows certified sustainable, organic and biodynamic farming, with hand harvesting, low yields and careful vineyard work carried out with respect for the natural balance of soil and vine. In the cellar, the focus is on respect for the fruit, vinifying parcels according to their individual character through both traditional and modern methods. Longtime cellar master Hans Terzer has helped define the house style, while limited projects such as Appius, Fallwind and The Wine Collection highlight selected vineyards, memorable vintages and the winery’s commitment to precision, longevity and terroir expression.
