Quinta do Pôpa is a family-run producer in Adorigo, Tabuaço, in the Cima Corgo of the Douro. Its story begins with Francisco Ferreira, known as Pôpa, whose dream was realized by his son José Ferreira, who acquired part of Quinta do Vidiedo and renamed it in his father’s honor; the third generation, Stéphane and Vanessa Ferreira, is now involved. The estate works schist soils and old vines, including parcels dating back to 1932, with varieties such as Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz and old field blends. Farming is described as sustainability-focused, with precision viticulture, integrated production, biodiversity and some organic and biodynamic management. In the cellar, Quinta do Pôpa emphasizes authentic wines that respect their origin, with minimal intervention in some single-parcel bottlings and traditional methods such as amphora and curtimenta.
