Domaine Marc Roy

France

Domaine Marc Roy is a fourth-generation family estate in Burgundy, based in Gevrey-Chambertin and Marsannay. Since taking over from her father Marc in 2003, Alexandrine Roy has led the domaine herself, overseeing the vines, winemaking, sales and export, while her parents assist with mechanical work. The estate focuses on a tightly limited range: one white Marsannay and three red Gevrey-Chambertin village cuvées. Farming follows a minimal-intervention, raisonnée approach, with hand-harvesting, regular ploughing, low yields, 100% destemming, natural yeasts and gentle pressing. The domaine has no formal organic or biodynamic certification.
