Chelti is a family-owned winery in Shilda, Kakheti, founded in 2001 by Giorgi Mirianashvili and now run with his children Ana and Andria. Its vineyards lie near the Chelti River on the lower slopes of the Caucasus, in iron-rich clay, gravel and volcanic-stone soils. Certified biodynamic and vegan, Chelti hand-harvests its grapes and moves them to the press within 15 minutes, making wines without animal products, cultured yeasts or added sulfites. Winemaking combines modern stainless-steel tanks with Georgia’s traditional qvevri method, with underground amphorae maintaining naturally cool, stable temperatures. The estate’s wines express both contemporary precision and Kakheti’s ancient winemaking heritage.
