Château Cantenac Brown

France

Cantenac Brown is a Bordeaux Third Growth estate, classified Grand Cru Classé in 1855. Since 2019 it has been owned by Tristan Le Lous and the Le Lous family, following AXA and the Halabi family. Winemaking has been led by José Sanfins since 2009, with Éric Boissenot noted as a former winemaker. The estate stands out for its environmentally focused approach, including HEV3 certification, plant-based fertilisation, a raw-earth gravity-fed cellar, and construction using natural bio-sourced materials without Portland cement. Its stated direction also includes net-zero carbon initiatives, giving the château a clear identity built around classified Bordeaux tradition and modern sustainability.
