Adernats is the wine and cava brand of Vinícola de Nulles, a farmer-owned cooperative in Nulles, Alt Camp, Catalonia. Founded in 1917, it works from the landmark modernist “Catedral del Vi,” designed by César Martinell, where wines and cavas are still made in century-old concrete vats. The vineyards are planted on clay-limestone soils under a Mediterranean climate, with many old vines and a strong use of traditional bush-trained “al vas” viticulture. The focus is on local white grapes such as Macabeu, Xarel·lo and Moscatell, alongside other white and red varieties. Notes also indicate organic certification for its reserve cavas and ecological vineyard work, alongside a long tradition of long-aged cava production.
