Producer

Voliero

Italy

Voliero is a boutique Montalcino producer in Tuscany, owned and run by founder-vigneron Andrea Cortonesi as the second label of the Uccelliera estate. Its wines come from higher-elevation vineyards in Castelnuovo dell’Abate and Sant’Angelo in Colle, on well-drained clay and limestone soils; early vintages were sourced from the Canalicchio cru before the estate shifted to sites closer to the winery. The approach is traditional, with spontaneous fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel and aging in large Slavonian oak, with some French oak. No organic, biodynamic, or sustainability certifications are reported.
