Villa di Vetrice

Italy

Villa di Vetrice is a historic, multi-generational Grati family estate in Chianti Rufina, Tuscany, centered on the Galiga and Vetrice vineyards. Its high-altitude, cooler sites feature clay-rich, stony calcareous marl soils, producing wines described as elegant, fresh, complex, and characterful. The estate combines traditional viticulture with innovation: Borgo Prunatelli is certified organic for Sanforte, wines are made with natural yeasts and minimal intervention, and an experimental vineyard supports biodiversity and the preservation of old varieties. The family has also contributed to the recovery of Chianti Rufina’s viticultural heritage through the Vitiarium collection, developed with the University of Florence after research across local farms. Gualberto Grati leads the winemaking and business operations.
