Terre Magre Pinot Nero

Founded in 1899, Piera 1899 is a family-owned winery based in San Quirino in Friuli Grave, led since 1992 by Piera Martellozzo, who also serves as winemaker. Its wines reflect the alluvial, stony soils of the Friuli Grave and are sourced from vineyards in Friuli Venezia Giulia, eastern Veneto and Trentino. The estate works with both native and international varieties, including Ribolla Gialla and Raboso del Piave, producing elegant, modern wines with a fresh, delicate style. An early advocate of organic viticulture, it launched an organic wine line in 1998 and now holds certifications including EU organic, Equalitas, IFS Food and BRCGS. Sustainability efforts also include recycling initiatives, environmental reporting and integrated production standards.
