Bodegas Mauro

Spain

Bodegas Mauro is a family-owned estate in Castilla y León, founded in 1980 by Mariano García in Tudela de Duero and now run with his sons Alberto and Eduardo. Rooted in the Duero Valley, it farms organically and is moving progressively toward biodynamic viticulture, including the use of animal traction. The estate works older, bush-trained vines on light, well-draining clay-limestone soils, with a focus on Tempranillo. Harvest is manual, fermentations use native yeasts, and parcels are vinified separately to reflect site character. Its style is described as balanced and elegant, with ageing potential and a strong respect for terroir identity.
