Badia di Morrona

Italy

Badia di Morrona is a historic, family-owned estate in Terricciola, within Tuscany’s Terre di Pisa, acquired by the Gaslini Alberti family in 1939 and now guided by its third generation. Set around an abbey founded in 1089, the estate includes vineyards and olive groves, with soils shaped by clay, sand, stones, fossils and ancient marine deposits. Its modern winery is discreetly integrated into the landscape, using gravity-fed grape reception, photovoltaic panels and water-treatment systems that allow reuse for irrigation and washing. Production focuses mainly on red wines, led by Sangiovese, alongside international varieties and Vermentino. The estate also produces extra virgin olive oil and offers tastings, tours and hospitality.
