Founded in 1856, Cousiño Macul is one of Chile’s oldest family-owned wineries, still fully controlled by the sixth-generation Cousiño family. Based in the Maipo Valley, with historic vineyards in Santiago and Buin, it focuses on wines produced, vinified and bottled at origin to express local terroir. The estate is known for a classic style that balances New World ripeness with Old World elegance, with whites noted for freshness and balance and reds for roundness, color and ageing potential. Certified Sustainable by Wines of Chile, the winery also highlights responsible vineyard management, climate-adapted replanting and drip irrigation. Rosario Palma Corrales leads the cellar, with Matías Rivera credited for the limited-run Lota label.
