France

Château Doisy-Védrines is a Barsac estate in Bordeaux, producing Sauternes-style sweet white wines. Owned by the Castéja family since the mid-19th century, it is currently led by Olivier and Eric Castéja, with Guillaume Lefebvre overseeing operations and consultant oenologist Hervé Romat also involved. The vineyards are dominated by Sémillon, farmed with organic viticulture and broader sustainable methods, and the estate has held HVE 3 certification since 2019. Grapes are hand-picked, and the wines are fermented and aged in French oak for 18 to 20 months, with a notable share of new barrels. Notes also reference the year 1677 in the estate’s history.
