Beauséjour is a historic Saint-Émilion estate in Bordeaux, rooted in limestone soils on the highest slopes and classified Premier Grand Cru Classé B since 1955. Long associated with the Duffau-Lagarrosse family, it is now co-managed by ninth-generation Joséphine Duffau-Lagarrosse and Prisca Courtin, alongside the Courtin-Clarins family consortium. The vineyard is planted mainly to Merlot with Cabernet Franc, with old vines on clay-limestone terroir. Recent work emphasizes expressing the singular Beauséjour terroir through hand-harvesting, precise plot-by-plot vinification in smaller vats, and élevage in oak and limestone cellars. The estate’s team includes long-serving vineyard hands Izilda and Christophe Chanloup, supported by consultants Axel Marchal, Julien Viaud, and Nicolas Thienpont.
