United States

Carol Shelton Wines is a boutique, independently owned producer based in Santa Rosa, California. Winemaker Carol Shelton and her husband, Mitch Mackenzie, bootstrapped the business and reinvest profits, with Carol serving as sole winemaker. A Zinfandel specialist, Shelton works closely with growers across Dry Creek Valley, Rockpile, Russian River Valley, Mendocino, and the Cucamonga Valley to express the character of individual vineyards, many of which are organically farmed and planted to old vines. The Wild Thing Old Vine Zinfandel uses certified organic grapes and wild fermentation, reflecting a sustainable, heritage-vine approach. Alongside single-vineyard Zinfandels, the range includes rosé, Rhône-style whites and reds, and late-harvest wine.
