High Note

Argentina

High Note operates Vista del Sur in Mendoza’s Uco Valley, where vineyards in Vistaflores, La Consulta, Gualtallary, and Altamira range from 3,300 to 5,000 feet in elevation. Intense sunlight, cool nights, and dry sandy soils encourage long hang times and concentrated fruit without excessive sugar. Winemaker Leopoldo Kuschnaroff, a Mendoza native from a farming family, joined High Note in 2013 after a long tenure with the Catena family. His approach is to express the Uco Valley’s terroir through its varied microclimates, producing wines with distinctive combinations of red and black fruit, spice, floral notes, minerality, and acidity.
