Cherrier Père et Fils is a family-owned Loire Valley estate in Chaudoux, north of Sancerre, operated by brothers François and Jean-Marie Cherrier. Founded in the late 19th century—or in the late 1920s according to another source—the estate represents several generations of Cherrier family winemaking. Its vineyard is planted on a refined mix of flint and chalk, including the chalk-rich Croix Poignant plot, with old vines averaging around 70 years. Grapes are hand-harvested and fermented with indigenous yeasts in temperature-controlled stainless steel, then aged on fine lees to preserve terroir. The wines combine rich fruit, chalky minerality, and lively acidity. No organic or biodynamic certification is noted, though the family emphasizes careful attention to its old vines.
