Château Lafon-Rochet

France

Château Lafon-Rochet is a historic Fourth Growth estate from the 1855 classification in Saint-Estèphe, Bordeaux. The 42-hectare vineyard, with gravel and clay soils, is planted to Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and small amounts of Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc, with an average vine age of 38 years. Owned by the Tesseron family with Emmanuel Cruse as co-owner, the estate is managed by Christophe Congé, advised by consultant Jean-Claude Berrouet. A strong commitment to sustainability is evident through an ongoing conversion to organic and biodynamic practices, supported by a large agro-ecology project focused on biodiversity. Annual production is around 20,000 cases, split between the grand vin and a second wine.
