Mata

Spain

Mata is a four-generation, family-owned winery founded by Don Felipe de la Mata in 1840 and modernized by Don Pelayo de la Mata in 1989. Still owned and managed by the de la Mata family, it is currently led by Pelayo de la Mata. The estate operates wineries in Rioja Alta, Ribera del Duero, and Rías Baixas, producing wines intended to express the typical qualities of each denomination of origin. Its history is closely linked to the de la Mata family, including Don Hilario de la Mata and Don Pelayo de la Mata, who shaped the present winery.
