Le Pianelle

Italy

Le Pianelle is a small, artisan estate in Alto Piemonte, founded and owned by Dieter Heuskel and Peter Dipoli. Working across more than 50 plots in Brusnengo, Roasio and Lessona, the estate practices organic viticulture and focuses on Nebbiolo alongside local Croatina and Vespolina. Winemaking is led by Cristiano Garella, with an emphasis on expressing the distinctive porphyry and volcanic soils of the area through Bramaterra and Coste della Sesia wines. The property began with the restoration of abandoned vineyards and forms part of Alto Piemonte’s renewed viticultural renaissance. Its farmhouse cellar follows an artisanal approach, using open wood barrels and a hydraulic basket press, while the wines are noted for tension, vibrancy and persistence rather than sheer volume.
