Silvio Morando is a grower-owned, family-run estate in Vignale Monferrato, Piedmont, led by owner-winemaker Silvio Morando. The farm is described as fourth- and fifth-generation in the notes, with no external corporate ownership. Certified organic and also noted for biodynamic practices, the estate works vineyards of calcareous marl, limestone, and ancient sandy clay with fossil beds. Morando is especially known for his focus on the heritage Grignolino grape, using short maceration, gentle pressing, and aging in stainless steel and cement. The wines are bottled unfined, unfiltered, and with low sulfur, in a minimalist, terroir-driven style.
