Olivier Cousin is an independent, owner-operated producer in the Loire Valley, running the family Domaine Cousin-Leduc. He farms old vines on black loam over deep limestone using certified organic and biodynamic methods, with vineyard work done by hand and with horses, avoiding modern mechanisation. A farmer-winemaker focused on natural wine, Cousin uses hand-harvested fruit, native-yeast fermentations, and a minimalist cellar approach: unfined, unfiltered, vegan, and made without added sulfites or other additives. His wines, including Saumur Brut NV and Cabernet Franc, are produced in limited quantities as handcrafted expressions of place. Notes also mention collaboration with winemaker David Lecomte.
