Clos Lunelles

France

Clos Lunelles is a Bordeaux estate on the Sainte-Colombe plateau, owned since 2001 by Gérard and Chantal Perse of the Perse family, who also own Château Pavie and Château Monbousquet. The property is farmed with an emphasis on low yields and sustainable viticulture, using green harvesting, leaf thinning, crop thinning, hand-harvesting, and table-sorting, though it holds no specific certification. In the cellar, the approach is meticulous and labor-intensive: hand-picked fruit is fermented with indigenous yeasts in temperature-controlled vats, followed by malolactic fermentation in barrel and extended aging in new oak. The wines are bottled without fining or filtration.
