Clos Fornelli

France

Clos Fornelli is a family-owned estate in eastern Corsica, run by Josée Vanucci and Fabrice Couloumère. Rooted in a shepherding family that planted vines here about a century ago, the domaine took a decisive turn in 2005 when the couple began making its own wines rather than sending fruit to the local cooperative. Certified organic, it farms low-yield vineyards on the alluvial terraces of the Bravone River without herbicides and with a focus on avoiding irrigation. The estate works exclusively with Corsican grapes, including the gradual reintroduction of rare native varieties to preserve the island’s wine heritage. Winemaking is low-intervention, with spontaneous fermentations, minimal sulfur and élevage in concrete.
