Villa Sparina

Italy

Villa Sparina is a family-owned winery in Piedmont’s Gavi DOCG, centered on the Monterotondo hills and run by the Moccagatta family. Founded by Mario and Bruna Moccagatta in the mid-1970s, it is now operated by their children Stefano, Massimo, and Tiziana, with Stefano and Massimo leading the winemaking. The estate focuses on native Cortese for Gavi, including the Monterotondo cru and wines from historic vines, alongside metodo classico sparkling wine and several Barbera styles. Its 18th-century cellars, traditional methods, and open-cellar tours reflect a strong connection to place and hospitality. The winery forms part of a broader family-run resort complex, while its wines are described as elegant, balanced, harmonious, and expressive of their territory.
