Producer

Gustave Lorentz

France

Founded in 1836, Gustave Lorentz is a family-owned Alsace estate based in Bergheim and led by seventh-generation Georges Lorentz. Its 33 hectares of estate vineyards, including holdings in the Grand Crus Altenberg de Bergheim and Kanzlerberg, have been certified organic by Ecocert since 2012 after conversion began in 2009. The house also works with local growers, while its own wines express the relationship between grape variety, terroir and climate. Its stated style emphasizes balance, purity, digestibility and personality, with the Evidence range made from organically farmed grapes and vinified deliberately dry to highlight mineral character. The estate produces wines from both Bergheim Grand Crus, alongside a broader range of Alsace wines.
