Marco De Bartoli

Italy

Marco De Bartoli is a family-owned, artisanal winery in Sicily, with deep roots in Marsala and Pantelleria. Founded by the passionate and tenacious Marco De Bartoli, the estate is now run by his children, who continue his dedication to traditional methods and native varieties like Grillo and Zibibbo. With about 20 hectares of vineyards, producing roughly 100,000 bottles annually, the focus is on low-intervention farming, including the UNESCO-recognized 'alberello pantesco' bush vines on Pantelleria. The winery is celebrated for reviving traditional Marsala, particularly the multi-vintage Vecchio Samperi made using the solera method, and for artisanal passito wines. It has earned numerous accolades, including top awards from Slow Wine and Bibenda guides, and is recognized for its commitment to territorial expression and sustainable practices.
