Paolo Calì

Paolo Calì Vini is a family-run estate in Vittoria, Sicily, founded in 2001 by pharmacist-turned-winemaker Paolo Calì, who revived his family’s winemaking tradition on the same lands. Its organically farmed vineyards lie on marine sand dunes and are planted exclusively to native varieties including Frappato, Nero d’Avola and Grillo. Vineyard work is largely manual, with individual attention to each vine. Paolo Calì oversees the cellar with oenologist Emiliano Falsini, using indigenous yeasts and a low-intervention approach in stainless steel, amphorae and old Slavonian oak. The wines aim to express varietal identity and territory without following fashions or rigid formulas, reflecting an artisanal, non-industrial philosophy.
