Producer

Jean-Philippe Fichet

France

Jean-Philippe Fichet is a Meursault-based Burgundy grower-producer founded in 1981 and run hands-on by Fichet himself as owner and sole winemaker. He focuses on village-level white wines and single-vineyard bottlings from Meursault and Puligny-Les-Referts, with a precise, terroir-driven style. Viticulture follows lutte raisonnée and organic-minded principles, including hand harvesting, traditional ploughing, on-site compost, and no chemical fertilizers, herbicides, or pesticides, though the estate is not certified organic. In the cellar, Fichet favors very low yields from severe winter pruning, malolactic fermentation in barrel, limited bâtonnage, and 12 to 18 months of élevage in mostly older oak with minimal new barrels.
